Varg Speaks On the Change in the Musical style of Burzum
I have regarded my music as being more like classical music played with modern instruments, and in a different tempo, but still it sounds very 'metal', and it is not fully in harmony with our Aryan spirit. Whether Burzum was original, unique, or whatever, does not really matter as it was 'partly alien' to our Aryan spirit.
As you can see from this, we can name four categories of music; Aryan music/Aryan lyrics (I), Aryan music/Alien
Lyrics (II), Alien music/Aryan lyrics (III) and Alien music/Alien lyrics (IV). Most music falls under the latter
category, while a lot of the Pagan metal bands come under the Alien music/Aryan lyrics category. This is only half-way
to good though. It is better than all Alien, but it is only half-way good. What we need is a development to the
purely Aryan, and that is what I am trying to do with Burzum. It is as simple as that.
The axiom "You become what you listen to", is not a joke. Everybody is influenced by what they see, hear,
read and even taste. You can compare art with water. If it consists of 70% mud, or only 30% or even 10% mud, it
will still be 'muddy water'. To be clean it has to consist of nothing but water, and NO mud! So it does not matter
if there are only 'some' alien-roots in this or that art, as 'some' is too much! If I move from only 30% mud, while
most others are perhaps already 40% or 50% mud, I still have to consider my 30% mud period as 'muddy' - so to speak.
Without any regards to whether my art was more pure than most other art in the same vein at that time.
Still, I will stress that I do not 'turn my back' on the past, as I know that this period in my life was a necessary
step in the right direction. It is like a bridge that could carry the charging infantry, but has to be replaced
by a stronger bridge now when the cavalry arrives! Do you copy?
Just because most people have not yet even managed to lay a bridge able to carry even mice, I can not drop my advancement
just to stay in their ranks - so to speak. I have to advance if and when I can, in this 'game of life', to the
next higher level of struggle. I share my experience with others, enabling them to follow me, to advance to their
next higher level, but many fail to realise this, and instead are doing their best to stay at their lower level,
just because they have experienced a certain success at this level.
I am not talking about music only, this has to do with the quality of soul and spirit aswell, for it is not joke
when I say "You become what you listen to"/ By listening to music that is in harmony with our Aryan spirit
only, You become more Aryan in spirit! If only people had tried this, they would realise what an enormous change
there is, after some time, when listening to Aryan music and Aryan lyrics! to be a true Aryan, one has to think
like an Aryan aswell, and people will never do that as long as they keep polluting their minds with alien music,
or even worse; alien music and alien lyrics! C'est la vive!
Those able to see the logic in this, and who at the same time are mentally advanced enough to advance one level
up in the 'game of life', will follow and do as I have done! This may be many, or only a few in the 'metal ranks'.
The Elite will follow, the rest will not. Such are the laws of Nature! So ist das Leben!
